Great news for JetBlue cardmembers and TrueBlue members! Starting March 1, 2023, you’ll be able to redeem your TrueBlue points with Points Payback. With this updated option, you may get a statement credit and reimburse yourself for purchases made in the last 90 days that cost $25 or more, up to $1,000 in total. In addition there are other changes to TrueBlue that will be beneficial for existing TrueBlue loyalists.
I am somewhat of JetBlue loyalist who was thinking of cancelling my JetBlue Plus Card. My second year fee is coming up soon. The updated perks and changes to points redemption make me reconsider using this card again.
Points Payback Redemption
You can use TrueBlue points to receive a statement credit of up to $1,000 each calendar year to reimburse yourself for purchases made with your Card Account of $25 or more within the previous 90 days. During one billing cycle, the statement credit will show up on your billing statement.
Be aware that statement credits can only be used to lower your card Account balance and cannot be used to satisfy any minimum payment obligations.
Update to TrueBlue Program
The TrueBlue program has recently been updated, and now you can get both Tiles and TrueBlue points when you use it. See more details here.
When the new TrueBlue program launches, if you become a TrueBlue Mosaic member, you’ll receive a bonus of 5,000 points automatically. This bonus is in addition to any other perks you may have already selected while earning tiles towards your Mosaic status.
In simpler terms, if you become a TrueBlue Mosaic member, you’ll get a nice little bonus of 5,000 points without having to do anything extra.
What are Tiles?
TrueBlue, the loyalty program of JetBlue Airlines, has a new way of keeping track of your progress towards perks and Mosaic status. They’re called “Tiles,” and they’re like virtual tokens that you earn when you spend money on JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations, Paisly by JetBlue, and certain JetBlue credit cards. You can also earn tiles when you fly with American Airlines.
These Tiles don’t have any actual value like money, and you can’t use them to buy or pay for travel. They’re just a way for TrueBlue to keep track of your loyalty and reward you for it.
At the end of each calendar year, your Tiles reset to zero, so you have to start earning them all over again. You can’t buy Tiles outright, but you can earn them by using JetBlue’s credit cards.
Import thing to note: when you earn TrueBlue Mosaic Level 1, you will get the TrueBlue Perks that you picked out, but not the 5,000 bonus points or the JetBlue Vacations Bonus. This only applies if you get Mosaic status in 2022 or later. If you qualify for Mosaic status in 2024 or later, then you can get those perks.
If you’re considering getting a JetBlue Plus Card, here are some benefits you can look forward to:
- Earn 6X points on JetBlue purchases, 2X points at restaurants and eligible grocery stores, and 1X points on all other purchases.
- Get a free first checked bag for you and up to 3 eligible travel companions on a JetBlue-operated flight.
- Enjoy 50% savings on eligible inflight purchases on JetBlue-operated flights.
- Receive a bonus of 5,000 points every year after your JetBlue Plus Card account anniversary.
- Get 10% of your points back as a bonus after you redeem for and travel on a JetBlue-operated Award Flight.
- Receive an annual $100 statement credit after you purchase a JetBlue Vacations package of $100 or more with your JetBlue Plus Card.
- You won’t be charged foreign transaction fees.
- Your card offers $0 Fraud Liability protection against unauthorized use.
What’s the Verdict?
Overall, the JetBlue Plus Card has become an even more appealing option for frequent JetBlue travelers thanks to the recent updates to the Points Payback and TrueBlue program. Additionally, the card’s existing rewards, such as bonus points on eligible JetBlue purchases and free checked bags, make it a compelling option for those who travel frequently with JetBlue. Overall, the JetBlue Plus Card is worth considering for anyone who wants to earn rewards and maximize their benefits while traveling with JetBlue.
